Congruent acute angles

This house and roof have a pair of congruent acute angles. Congruent angles means the angles are equal and acute means that the angles are less than 90 degrees. Houses are where people live and the roofs keep harsh weather out and enclose the house.

3 coplanar parallel lines

This window contains 3 parallel lines that are all on the same plane. Parallel lines are lines that can keep going on forever but never intersect. Windows are used in houses to let in light and look at the outside world.

Angle Bisector

This picture frame displaces an angle bisector. An angle bisector is a line that cuts the angle perfectly in half. Picture frames are used to hold pictures in place and sometimes as decorations.

Adjacent non-supplementary angles

These colored pencils contain adjacent non-supplementary pairs. Adjacent angles are angles that share a common side and vertex. Supplementary means they angles add up to 180 degrees so non-supplementary is when the angles add up to anything but 180 degrees. Colored pencils are used for color and to draw pictures make things colorful.

Line perpendicular to a plane

The telephone pole contains a pair of perpendicular lines. Perpendicular lines are lines that intersect and form a right angle that equals 90 degrees. Telephone poles are used to hold up the wires that carry the electricity to houses.

Vertical Angles

These marshmallow sticks contain vertical angles. Vertical angles are the angles that are opposite of eachother when 2 lines cross. Marshmallow sticks are used to put marsmallows on the end to roast them.

Supplementary angles that are not a linear pair

This door contains supplementary angles that are not a linear pair. Supplementary angles are angles that add up to 180 degrees. A linear pair is a pair of adjacent angles that make a straight line. These angles are both right angles that are 90 degrees so they are supplementary. They are not on the same line and do not form a line so they are not a linear pair. Doors are used to separate rooms in houses.
